KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Some of the Heartland's own lawmakers went to new heights for their constituents Saturday.

State Rep. Rebecca McClanahan and St. Sen. Wes Shoemyer jumped out of a plane Saturday afternoon as part of the Kirksville Air Festival. It was the first time skydiving for both of the legislators.

We caught up with them moments after they landed.

“Everybody should do it once for sure. It's very intense. It's amazing. I had some great guys to work with and wow, I'm still a little excited!” said Shoemyer. “It was wonderful! I loved it. My guy that went with me, my tandem Clint, is my new BFF, my new best friend forever,” McClanahan said.

Kirksville Regional Airport Director Dave Hall also skydived with Shoemyer and McClanahan.
