WASHINGTON -- Senator Chuck Grassley Wednesday said that the U.S. Department of Education has released $476,000 to Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa. The funds were awarded through the fiscal 2009 appropriations process.

“The biofuels industry has tremendous potential for Iowa,” Grassley said. “These funds will help train and prepare people for jobs in this new and emerging industry.”

Indian Hills Community College will use the money to help develop and implement a program of online courses, assessment tools, and instructor training that is designed to create training opportunities across the country that support the biofuels industry.
