KIRKSVILLE, MO. (AP) -- Kirksville Fire officials say a fire in a park restroom Sunday night was intentionally set.

Battalion Chief Marc Jefferson tells KTVO the fire started in the men's bathroom at Brashear Park in Kirksville around 9:30 p.m. The building is still standing, but Jefferson says the men's room is completely destroyed; the ceiling in men's room is totally gone.

The women's restroom and the storage area in the building suffered smoke damage.

Jefferson says the blaze was set in the area above the sink in the men's room, near the towel dispenser. He says there's no other possible ignition source in the area.

Jefferson says the fire department will turn the case over to the Kirksville Police Department for any further investigation.
