KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The Hamilton Street Baptist Church congregation left Hamilton Street Sunday morning for a field trip to Rotary Park.

The church took advantage of the great outdoors by holding a “Worship in the Park” service. They planned for about 300 people, and ended up with a full house. The service was a mixture of both traditional and contemporary styles.

“One of the things about our congregation is we have two different worship services. It's very difficult to get them all together, we're always looking for ways to get them together and worship as one church family and so we also thought it might be fun to come out here to the amphitheater, make use of it and open this as an outreach to the community,” said Pastor Charles Jackson.

The church also provided a free cook-out lunch for attendees. For more information on the Hamilton Street Baptist church, click here.
