QUEEN CITY, MO. -- Two local men are behind bars in connection with a string of stolen vehicles that have been found set on fire in recent weeks.

One such incident occurred last week in Adair County. Authorities have been investigating similar incidents in Schuyler, Putnam and Knox counties. Schuyler County Sheriff Donnie Bruner tells KTVO two men were arrested Friday.

Not much information is available at this time, but we do know that the men in custody are Eugene Chuites and Stanley Brown Jr., both of Queen City, Mo.

Bruner says both men are being held at the Schuyler County Jail, each under $50,000 cash only bond. They're both charged with stealing a motor vehicle and tampering with a motor vehicle

Bruner says more arrests are expected in the coming days and further charges may be filed in the case. KTVO will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
