KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- An unusual car was on showcase Wednesday in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Kirksville.
The Air Force NASCAR Show Car caught the attention of many drivers as they stopped to take a look at the car and talk to the air force recruiter.
The recruiter is new in town but the car and its owner travel all around the country.
“The Air Force is one of our sponsors for the Richard Petty Motor Sports number 43 car so I travel all around the country. Normally I leave about the first of February. I get home about Thanksgiving and my wife and I, we just go from town to town to town and work with the local Air Force Recruiters,” said Steven Johnson with Richard Petty Motor Sports Mobile Marketing.
Johnson says he loves meeting the different recruiters and all military personnel.
Master Sergeant Select Corey Reynolds is the new recruiter in Kirksville who says his goal while in Kirksville is simple.
“I would like to give the young men and women just a chance to see what the Air Force has to offer for some of them that aren't those opportunities or somebody that's looking for like a career, we have 150 different jobs,” said TSgt. Corey Reynolds.
Reynolds is assigned to Kirksville for four years. He says the Air Force is looking for recruits between the ages of 17 and 27 and in good physical shape. His office is located at 516 North Baltimore Street.
