KANSAS CITY, MO. (AP) -- A Kansas City barber killed in a recent robbery attempt had been cutting hair since he was 12.
Mauro Brito Pacheco tried to ward off three men trying to rob Tina's Hair Salon in Kansas City this week. But the 38-year-old was fatally shot after not opening a safe.
Pacheco was born in Honduras and started cutting hair at his family's shop. Pacheco came to the United States from Honduras as a teenager.
The Kansas City Star reports that the robbers got away with only $20.
