SEDALIA, MO. (AP) -- The Missouri State Fair is reaching out to both city and county dwellers.
The fair will feature two first-time attractions when it opens Aug. 13. There will be the Rural Lifestyles Showcase and three days
of science-focused demonstrations and activities.
Director Mark Wolfe says he thinks the offerings will "appeal to everyone."
The Rural Lifestyles Showcase features some regular fair exhibits, such as art and floriculture. There also will be several
new items, including classes on sensible living and demonstrations about cooking with local foods.
The three-day science focus starts Aug. 20 with a Show-Me Robots event. It will give visitors a chance to operate robots. Exhibits about "going green" and energy will be on display Aug. 21.
