KIRKSVILLE, MO --

Kids of all ages spread their blankets on the library lawn Thursday morning for some musical fun. A local band director hosted a "Carnival of Instruments" as part of the summer reading program at the Adair County Public Library. The event was a hands-on way for kids to learn about musical instruments, rhythm, and conducting

“The theme for the year is "Be Creative”, so instead of just bringing people to play music that's already written, we decided to show the instruments so the kids would know the different instruments they could play in the schools, and we also made some instruments,” said Brad Hudson, Kirksville R-III Band Director.

The library will host Mike Anderson, “The Dulcimer Guy” July 23 at 10:30 a.m. For more information on the summer reading program, click here.
