KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan made a visit to the heartland earlier this week.
While she was in town she stopped by the Kirksville RSVP Banquet and held a campaign fundraiser.
Carnahan announced earlier this year that she's running for Kit Bond's senate seat.
In january Bond revealed he will not seek re-election.
We caught up with Carnahan to find out what she plans to do for Missouri if elected.
"I hope the stimulus activity thats already out there is something that can be productive and help this community but we need to do more than that. We need to be able to streamline the activities of government and target things that we need like Health Care and like creating new fuels for the future," Carnahan said.
Carnahan tells KTVO she knows being a senator will present her with big challenges because of whats currently going on in the country.
But she says she's up for the challenge.
