The historic look of Kirksville is coming back one building at a time.

One historic business was unveiled Thursday.

Representatives of the DREAM initiative say that Kirksville has great potential for revitalization.

DREAM officials tell KTVO that after several public surveys, they've learned that it all comes down to the architecture.

"Through surveying, is they want to restore the historic architecture downtown and really try to preserve the architecture that exists and when you do that, it brings back the unique character that helps define your community because it's the history that made Kirksville, is what makes it unique," said DREAM Representative Patrick Hanlon.

Hanlon encourages other property owners to take steps to bring back the unique character that exists in downtown Kirksville.
