WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - A Waterloo woman has escaped injury when her pickup was hit by a train. Barb Federspiel says she was heading home from work on Thursday when she stopped behind a truck at a red light near some railroad tracks.
When Federspiel first pulled up, the crossing arms were up, but a train soon appeared and the crossing arms came down. Federspiel says she tried to move up as far as she could, but the back of her pickup was still on the tracks.
The train hit the corner of the pickup, spinning it about 45 degrees and pushing it off the tracks.
