KIRKSVILLE, MO -- When is the economy going to turn around? What can you do to help us? U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill asked major questions at a town hall style forum in Kirksville on Wednesday night. The meeting was held at A.T. Still University.

McCaskill told the audience that the Federal Economic Stimulus Bill will put the economy back on track.

Just Tuesday, Republican Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer was in Kirksville. He said the stimulus plan was going in the wrong direction and the economy is still getting worse, not better. McCaskill disagrees. “I hope no one is hoping for the worst. It’s time we put aside our party labels. We all need to support our president and the country and get beyond the party labels,” she said.

McCaskill says nearly half of the stimulus bill is tax breaks for middle and lower income Americans.
