ADAIR COUNTY, MO. -- A couple of northeast Missouri farmers knew the government wouldn't be giving them a bailout like so many big companies are getting, so they improvised.
Dennis and Janet Garlock (John's parents) took matters into their own hands on their Adair County farm.
They put out a large haybale at the end of their driveway with a sign reading, "I got my bale out!"
It was Dennis' idea, and Janet made arrangements to have the sign made.
The stunt has all the neighbors talking and a lot of heads turning.
Janet says their mail lady left a note in the mailbox, saying she likes their "bale out" plan.
Some of the Amish in the area are confused by the sign since they're not familiar with the federal bailouts.
One of them inquired to see if the sign means the Garlocks have hay for sale.
