DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey says that wet weather and cold temperatures are limiting farmers' ability to get into the fields for spring planting. Northey says farmers are hoping to start field work soon to prep
for planting, especially after a late harvest last fall.

Northey's comments were made following Monday's release of the Iowa Crops and Weather report.

According to the report, there were less than two suitable day for fieldwork last week.

It said many livestock pastures remain dormant and growth in others is limited by cool temperatures.
