KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Saturday was a nice day for a run, and that's exactly what 150 area residents did.
The Student Advocate Association at A.T. Still University and the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine held its annual fun run Saturday morning. All proceeds from the 31st annual Osteopathic Fun Run will benefit Quota International of Kirksville.
Participants also donated old shoes for the World Shoe Relief. Some even dressed a little crazy to make the run even more exciting. One runner says he runs about 30 miles a week to get ready for races like these.
“It's great exercise. It's a lot of fun. You get to go out and do something with friends, it's a good break from studying,” said Participant Marc Engelbrecht.
Matt Hilton and KTVO's own Ashley Smith took first place in the 5K race. The top finishers in the 10K run were Danny Felling and Katie Marshall. Tyler Howerton and Katie Howerton placed first in the one mile division.
