KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Cancer survivors and their caregivers are invited to a celebration of life this Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Kirksville Moose Lodge.

The event will mark the kick off for the Adair County Relay for Life on April 24th.

Those that attend the reception will enjoy food, fellowship, entertainment, and prizes.

“We will have a lot of information, good food, we've got some entertainment that should be very good, gentleman, you'll enjoy this.  I think the women will too.  Come out and join us, get ready for Relay for Life,” said Survivor Chairperson Helen Scott.

Organizers say the minute you're diagnosed with cancer, you're a survivor.

“We are honoring the survivors.  This is the reason we relay and if it wasn't for our survivors there wouldn't be a relay really.  It's honoring those that are still with us and remembering those that are gone,” said Scott.

If you wish to attend you can call Helen Scott at 660-627-5809 to confirm your attendance.
