MARSHALL, MO. -- A longtime Kirksville attorney who is facing two sex related felonies now has a warrant out for his arrest.
83-year-old Tom Oswald was due in court in Marshall, Missouri, Tuesday morning and failed to show. The court then revoked Oswald’s 25-thousand dollar cash bond and issued a warrant for his arrest.
Oswald’s bond will be reset to 50-thousand dollars cash only upon his arrest. Oswald was originally arrested in August, 2007, on two felony counts of second degree statutory sodomy, the case has been moving thru the court system ever since.
The case was moved from Adair County to Saline County on a change of venue. The reason for the court appearance was a motion by the Kirksville law firm of Briggs and Reuschel, to withdraw from the case. The withdrawal motion was granted.
When contacted by KTVO, Tim Reuschel declined to comment on the withdrawal, because the litigation is still pending.
A civil suit has also been filed in the matter. Those filing on behalf of the juvenile victim are asking for a minimum of 250-thousand dollars in the suit.
