KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The Boy Scouts of America will be out on the town scouting for food on March 7.

On Saturday February 28, boy scouts in Adair and surrounding counties will be leaving door hangers on houses to let residents know about the program. If you want to participate, all you have to do is leave a bag of non perishable food on your door step on Saturday, March 7 before 9 a.m.

“It's a worthwhile event. The kids get a big kick out of it, they enjoy the aspect of helping out their brothers and sisters in the community. I mean, they're going to school with these families and so they're aware,” said District Executive Scott Meredith.

The food bags picked up in Kirksville will be given to the Christian Community Food Pantry. Any donations are appreciated, but items needed most include peanut butter, cereals, canned fruits and veggies, and canned meats and soups.
