BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- Bloomfield resident, Linda Rowe, may have a house in Iowa but her heart is in Nigeria.
Linda began traveling to Nigeria each summer to do missions work in 2005 and is planning to keep that tradition going throughout the years.
While in Nigeria, Linda works with communities by donating education and medical supplies.
Linda has also worked to help build wells for villages that do not have clean water sources.
In the villages Linda has visited, villagers are forced to walk miles to find water, and the water sources are contaminated with bacteria and spread diseases like malaria.
However, Linda’s team works to build special covered wells that pass clean water tests.
We asked Linda how many people she thinks she has touched through this ministry.
“I don’t know, one of the wells we were working on, I asked ‘How many people use this well?’ and they said 10,000. I just said ‘Oh my goodness!’ I guess you never know how far-reaching it is,” Rowe said.
As Linda’s interest and heart for Nigeria grew, she came more and more involved with the organization that introduced her to the country, Iowa-Nigeria Partnership.
Linda is now a co-chair of the organization.
