KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- It's another sign of the times: Goody's Family Clothing Store in Kirksville is closing, but it doesn't stop there.

The manager of the Kirksville store confirmed for KTVO that the chain is shutting down all of its 312 stores nationwide. That includes the Ottumwa Goody's.

Wayne Walker said he just received the bad news from corporate headquarters on Tuesday.

He says officials have not given them a timeline yet, but they have been told that the Kirksville store will be having a liquidation sale prior to the closing.

Walker estimates the store will close its doors for good in three to four months.

He said the Kirksville Goody's is a profitable store, and residents from Kirksville and surrounding communities have been great customers.

Last June, Goody's filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection and closed some of its stores.

Our two phone calls to Goody's corporate office Tuesday were not returned.
