KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Some students at Truman State University officially became alumni Saturday.
Truman held its 2008 Winter Commencement ceremony Saturday morning. Nearly 300 graduates put on their caps and gowns to receive their diplomas in front of friends and family in Pershing Arena.
This year's featured speaker was Missouri Commissioner of Higher Education Robert Stein.
KTVO caught up with a few graduates to see where they're headed now that they've earned their diplomas. Despite the tough economic times, many new graduates told us they're optimistic about entering the workforce.
“You have to go out and apply, and if you go out and apply enough, then regardless of the situation in the economy, you're going to be able to find a job somewhere,” said Graduate Ryan Clanahan.
KTVO congratulates all of the 2008 graduates.
