FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- They might not be catching the nation's attention, but they're causing a stir in southeast Iowa.

Two fun-loving kittens were named Barack and Obama when they were taken to the Noah’s Ark Animal Foundation Animal Shelter on Election Day.

Now the two stray kittens have one big hope, to get adopted.

“They're obviously absolutely adorable, they're really calm little kitties and people notice that and notice how pretty they are," said Noah’s Ark Animal Foundation Lead Cat Adoption Counselor Laura Cohen.

Cohen said even though they have democratic names, it doesn't mean republicans can't adopt them.

The presidential kittens are just a couple of the cats located at the shelter that are looking for good homes.
