OTTUMWA, IOWA -- As snow was falling from Ottumwa’s sky Saturday, Habitat for Humanity was holding a fundraiser to help keep more Heartland families out of the elements in the future.
The annual, Festival of Trees, is showing now at Ottumwa’s Pennsylvania Place.
Many different Christmas trees and other decorations are on display and for sale.
For the past 16 years the Festival of Trees proceeds have gone to help pay for 10 new homes for those in need.
Throughout these past years an estimated $100,000 has been raised.
This year the festival branched out past trees and decided to hold a tea party as well.
We spoke to the coordinator of the event to find out how it went over.
"We had 90 women who participated. The committee brought in their own china and crystal and set their tables. Oh, they were just absolutely gorgeous. The food was wonderful and we will repeat this next year, said Judy Engle, Coordinator.
If you haven’t stopped by Pennsylvania Place to see the beautiful trees, you have another chance to Sunday afternoon until 3 p.m.
