Queen City, MO - Schuyler County got a chance to spend an evening learning about conservation.

The open house forum was held in the high school gym and had over 100 patrons.

County conservation agents, taxidermists and multiple organizations boothed the event, featuring turkey, ducks, deer, and historical hunting.

An informational meeting was held during the open house about black bear and mountain lion conservation.

The state's conservation department estimates Missouri has more than 200 black bears.

“It's very informative. We set this up for the public of Schuyler County and surrounding counties, and we're just trying to get information out there about our state's wildlife resources,” said Conservation Agent, Shannon Smith.

Other exhibits included firearms safety, Operation Game Thief and Discover Nature Girls Camp.
