Steven Mulnix is
charged with a felony count of possession of methamphetamine
MACON COUNTY, MO. -- A Callao man, who is currently on probation on a drug charge, gets arrested and is accused of the very same thing.
Steven Mulnix, 22, is charged with a felony count of possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Mulnix is being held in the Macon County jail under $9,000 cash only bond.
Mulnix was on probation on a meth possession charge at the time of his arrest.
According to court papers, Mulnix was a passenger in a vehicle which was stopped by a Macon County Sheriff's deputy, near the junction of Highways 63 and 36. A Macon city officer was called for assistance, along with the Macon K-9. The dog showed indications of drugs in and around the vehicle.
When the vehicle was searched, officers found several bags of white powdery substance which field tested positive for meth. Also discovered were syringes, cotton swabs and two broken spoons containing a white powdery substance.
Mulnix told officers he would probably test positive for meth and marijuana if required to take a drug test.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in Macon County Associate Circuit Court.
