Police make drug arrest, while investigating shot fired at police vehicle

KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The investigation into a shot being fired into the Kirksville Police Department's animal control vehicle, leads to a drug arrest.

William Holcomb, 28, of Kirksville, is charged with possession of methamphetamine. He is being held in the Adair County Jail under $25,000 cash only bond.

According to court papers, as part of the investigation into the shooting of the animal control vehicle's window, police served a search warrant at the Holcomb residence in the Dogwood Trailer Park.

 While there, officers discovered multiple syringes, a bent spoon and a few small baggies. Two of the baggies contained a white powdery substance, which field tested positive for meth.

 Adair County Prosecutor Matt Wilson tells says that Holcomb is not a suspect in the shooting of the vehicle window, at this time.
