Robbery at BP in Ottumwa

OTTUMWA, IOWA -- The Ottumwa Police Dept. received a call of a robbery at the West 2nd St. BP gas station in Ottumwa Wednesday night around 10.

According to Sgt. Steve Kovacs of the Ottumwa Police Dept., the clerk that was working was assaulted and subsequently the robber stole cash and merchandise from the store including several cartons of cigarettes.

“He has not been found. After he committed the robbery, he fled the store on foot and we are currently looking for the individual now. The only description we have is that we believe it was a white male in his 20's approximately 5 '8 to 5 '9, average build,” said Sgt. Kovacs.
