KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The Business 63 Ramp to Baltimore Street, at the south end of Kirksville, was closed Monday to install more guard rails.

The installation was a direct result of a lot of public input that was received since the highway was first opened.

The closure affects only northbound US 63 traffic. Message boards and traffic cones are placed before the flyover to alert motorists to continue on the alternate route.

Kevin James, MoDOT Assistant District 2 Engineer said, "We have the flyover closed now for safe installation for the equipment and the workers that are out there. Motorists are having to take alternate ways to get into town whether that is 6, 11 or P while the fllyover is closed. "

The flyover will be closed from 9am to 4pm Monday and Tuesday. When the work is completed, they will open it back up as soon as possible.

MoDOT appreciates motorists' continued patience as the final items are completed. For more information regarding transportation related issues you can call MoDOT's customer service at 1-888-275-6636.
