OTTUMWA, IOWA -- The Wapello County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint on Wednesday that a registered sex offender was not living at his registered address.

Jeffrey Richard Olson, 43, was arrested for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registry.

Olson registered with the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office as residing at a residence on 100th Ave.

“When the deputies got the call that the suspect was residing at a different residence, they verified his residence that he had registered here at the Sheriff's Office, went out to the address that they were told he was at and found him there. He was arrested as a result to the investigation a search warrant was done at the residence and some items to show residency was seized from there to help the case,” said Chief Deputy Don Phillips of the Wapello County Sheriff’s Department.

Olsen was brought to jail and later bonded out.
