U.S. Cellular recommends the following apps to help streamline your tax preparation process this year:

• The IRS’s IRS2Go app allows you to access tax planning and preparation tips, or connect to the IRS via YouTube, Twitter and Facebook for updated information on tax law changes, initiatives, products and services.  Additionally, you can track your tax refund through this secure system.

• The TurboTax app provides clear, step-by-step instructions, allowing users to easily complete and file their tax returns and maximize their refunds.  Use the camera on your mobile device to take a picture of, and submit, your W2 form.  This app offers special guidance for first time users, plus a "Life Change Expert" section for people who experienced major changes that will impact their taxes this year, like a new marriage, baby or home.

• TaxAct Central makes it fast and easy to complete, file and track your taxes.  It features a handy checklist to help you efficiently gather necessary information, a Help Center to answer any of your tax-related questions, a calendar with deadlines for annual, quarterly and monthly filing, and daily tips about a variety of tax issues.

• MyTaxRefund by TurboTax tracks what you're most concerned about - your refund. Use this free app to monitor the status of your federal and state returns, and see whether they're pending, accepted, or rejected.  You can also track the timing of your refund, so you have a better idea when your check or direct deposit will arrive.
