EDINA, MO. -- A northeast Missouri teen is behind bars on numerous charges including two felonies.

Richard Elder Jr., 19, of Edina, is charged with felony counts of first degree endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest. He is also charged with four misdemeanor counts. He is being held in the Adair County Jail under $25,000 cash only bond.

According to court papers, Elder is accused of grabbing the victim, under the age of 17 and attempting to climb out of a second story window with her, while he was in an intoxicated condition.

When officers attempted to take Elder into custody, he refused to put his hands behind his back and fought with officers as they attempted to take him into custody. Officers were forced to pin him in the corner trying to restrain him with handcuffs.

Both the Edina Police and the Knox County Sheriff's office were involved in the investigation.
