NEW CAMBRIA, MO. -- A Heartland teen is hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in her hometown.

It happened just after 3 p.m.  on Highway 149 in New Cambria, Missouri.

The highway patrol says a car driven by Courtney Thomas, 17, of New Cambria failed to yield and pulled into the path of an oncoming pickup driven by Jimmy Jacobs, 47, also from New Cambria.

Jacobs received minor injuries.

Thomas was flown by Air Evac to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries.

At last check Thursday night, she was still being evaluated in the emergency room.
