UNIONVILLE, MO. -- A northeast Missouri man facing multiple sex-related felony charges has been denied a bond reduction.

Joel Bremer, 47, of Unionville, Mo., asked for the bond reduction during a court appearance this week. That motion was denied by the judge. Bremer, who is charged with nine sex-related felony counts, remains behind bars under $100,000 dollars cash only bond.

Bremer is charged in connection with alleged incidents that occurred between 1999 and 2007. According to court papers, the victim says the abuse started when she was around 6 years old and continued and escalated until she was about 14.

Bremer's preliminary hearing is set for March 15.
