KIRKSVILLE, MO. --

It’s a way to get out of the house and have fun, all while helping a local organization.

It’s called Sweet Escape.

It is a fundraiser for the not-for profit Kirksville Child Development Center.

According to the organizer, there will be a dessert buffet, live entertainment and door prizes among other things.

“Every year we try to hold a fundraiser,” Heather Darrah said.  “They’re a not for profit organization. It’s a wonderful pre-school and this year we wanted to do something a little bit different…get the community involved. And, we just thought the grown ups always miss out on dessert, so let's have a big dessert night for everybody.”

The fundraiser is Saturday March 2 at 7 p.m. at the Journal Printing Building.

Tickets are $10 per person, and you can purchase them at the Benson Law Firm or for online purchase, click HERE.
