KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The National Weather Service has indicated that the City of Kirksville can expect snowfall of 6-10 inches beginning Thursday, February 21, 2013 and continuing through the morning of Friday, February 22.
As allowed by City Code 15-432, the Kirksville City Manager has declared a snow traffic emergency effective Thursday, February 21, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. due to winter weather conditions. Citizens will be required to move their parked vehicles from any street designated an “emergency snow route” by 2:00 p.m.
All vehicles parked on emergency snow routes shall be removed within two (2) hours after notice of a traffic emergency has been given. Any vehicle parked on an emergency snow route after such period of time may be removed or caused to be removed by a police officer to a place of safety, and the vehicle may not be recovered until the towing and storage charges are paid by the person claiming the vehicle.
Until the snow traffic emergency is terminated, it is illegal to park any vehicle on any street designated as an EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTE. EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES are marked with signs.
