IOWA -- The Iowa Department of Natural Resources released its final numbers for hunting, fishing and camping Tuesday.

The DNR reported selling 328,000 fishing licenses last year. All but 10,000 of those were annual licenses.

The DNR also sold 164,000 deer hunting licenses. The most popular license was for the first shotgun season, but the any deer bow license was nearly as popular.

As for campers, 2012 saw a big increase in the number of guest stays reported at the state campgrounds.

In 2011, campers spent 684,000 days at state campgrounds, in 2012 that number increased to 709,000.

The most popular individual park was Lewis and Clark State Park south of Sioux City.
