KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The North Central American Red Cross is holding its Day of Heroes Banquet on March 22. They are currently looking for nominees in six different categories. Deane Valkenaar explains why the banquet is held and who they are looking for to nominate.
“It’s mostly a thank you to the community for the so many people in the community that not only help the Red Cross but help the community. We're looking for nominations in six different categories education, public safety, youth, good samaritan, military and family and we're looking for people that have basically done actions over and above the call of duty for their community,” Valkenaar said.
The banquet is March 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Baptist Student Union in Kirksville. There will be an award ceremony, dinner and silent auction. If you would like to nominate someone or interested in tickets, click the links below.
