BROWNING, MO. -- It may seem like the old west returning to the Heartland, but two men are accused of being cattle rustlers.

Pake Croy, 20, and William Welsh, 22, both of Browning, Mo., are charged with felony theft, in connection with the theft of several head of cattle. Both men are being held in the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail under $15,000 cash only bond each.

According to the Sullivan County Sheriff's office, a county resident, who lives in the same area as the suspects, had reported some cattle missing. With the assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Rural Crimes Task Force, investigators gathered leads from neighbors which lead them to an area sale barn, which eventually lead them to the suspects.

Both men are expected to make their first court appearance on January 10.
