Continuance issued in Heartland murder case

A continuance has been issued in the case of Bobby Joe Snow, 39, of Ottumwa.

OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Another continuance has been issued in the case of a man charged with murder.

According to Iowa Courts Online, Bobby Joe Snow, 39, of Ottumwa, has been granted a continuance until January of 2013.

Snow was arrested in 2011 after he allegedly struck an Ottumwa woman with his vehicle, and then assaulted James Lee McElroy of Ottumwa.

McElroy later died at a Des Moines hospital.

Officials with the Wapello County Sheriff's Office confirm that Snow continues to be held in the Wapello County Jail on a $600,000 cash only bond.
