Sodomy charges put man behind bars

MACON, MO. -- A Heartland man is facing numerous sex related felony charges following a series of incidents involving a victim under the age of 14.
   
Larry Thompson, 54, of Macon, is charged with two counts of first degree statutory sodomy and one count of sexual misconduct involving a child under the age of 15. Thompson is being held in the Macon County Jail under $100,000 cash only bond.

According to court papers, Thompson was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol following an interview with the victim. The victim told authorities the abuses began at the age of 9 or 10, which would be between 2007 and 2008, and continued until March or April of this year.
    
Thompson made his first appearance in court  on Thursday.
