LA PLATA, MO. -- The community of La Plata honored its veterans Friday.
American Legion Post 282 started the celebration with the posting of the colors.
Then, the veterans walked into La Plata High School gym as the song, "God Bless the USA” played.
La Plata High School Principal Steve Safley told the veterans how much they mean to the community.
The dozens who attended Friday's ceremony at La Plata High School also observed a moment of silence for all of the fallen heroes.
Guest speaker at the event was Troy Mihalevich from the Adair County Ambulance District.
