TULAROSA, NEW MEXICO --

A lawsuit claims a New Mexico police officer used a Taser on a 10-year-old boy during career day on May 4. Officer Christopher Webb was visiting the boy's elementary school for career day when the incident occured according to TIME.

During a presentation Webb asked a group of students if they wanted to wash his car. After the victim, identified as R.D., refused, Webb allegedly pointed the Taser and said, "Let me show you what happens to people who do not listen to the police."

The lawsuit states the boy blacked out after he was hit with the five-second jolt and was left with scars on his chest.

The lawsuit, filed on October 26, says the boy could have faced serious bodily injury and that he now suffers from "Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome symptoms"
