Murder suspect headed to court

SELMA, IOWA -- An Ottumwa man accused of attempted murder will be in court next week.

Rusty E. Salter, 32, will be arraigned on the attempted murder charge and a criminal mischief charge on November 7 in Van Buren County District Court.
  
Salter was arrested on October 13 after he fired shots into the home Randall Ritz of Selma.
  
As a result of the incident, Ritz was arrested for drug possession. Ritz's brother, Richard, and another man were arrested on lesser charges.
  
Salter remains in the Van Buren County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
