RANDOLPH COUNTY, MO. -- A woman charged with murder in the death of her newborn, pleads not guilty.

Cassidy King, 26, appeared in Randolph County Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon in connection with second degree murder charges.

King waived her arraignment before Circuit Judge Scott Hayes and entered the plea.

She also requested a change of judge. The Missouri Supreme Court will appoint a new judge to hear the case. In addition, King is asking for a change of venue. She would like the case moved out of Randolph County.

According to court records, King is accused of throwing her baby boy into a pond near Higbee, Mo. in a weighted duffle bag. The incident took place between April 15 and May 8, 2011.

King is being held by the Missouri Department of Corrections after her parole in an earlier case was revoked.

A new date for King's next court appearance has not yet been set.
