KIRKSVILLE -- Work has started on the Franklin Streetscape Project.

The project includes new sidewalks, curbs, street lighting, and asphalt overlay from Normal Street to Washington Street. Work began at Normal and Franklin Streets and will continue moving north along the west side of Franklin.

The city of Kirksville is asking people to use caution while driving in the work zone and to avoid parking along the west side of Franklin from Pierce Street south the Normal. Lane closures along the west side of Franklin are also expected.

The Franklin Streetscape Project is expected to continue through the winter and be completed by early next summer.
