QUEEN CITY, MO -- The Schuyler County nursing home held a birthday celebration in honor of Elsie Oliver who is now 100 years old.

“We would like for you to know, we all love you and dearly so. 11 children you did raise and we think you should be greatly praised,” Maudie Oliver, Elsie’s daughter-in-law.

The Schuyler County nursing home held a 100th birthday celebration in honor of Elsie, Monday afternoon.

Oliver opened her presents and teared up as she read her cards, from friends and family.

Her daughter-in-law read a poem that one of Oliver’s daughters wrote some years ago.

Someone asked her how does it feel to be 100 and she said “I’ve had a good life.”
