KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Some northeast Missouri residents got together to remember those forgotten.

The Hospice of Northeast Missouri held the Run to Remember 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk at Rotary Park in Kirksville Saturday evening.

Afterwards the annual Lights of Life event took place as people purchased and lighted luminaries in memory and to celebrate the lives of a loved one's life lost.

"We feel like it's a nice event for the families throughout the grieving process to take a moment to reflect on that special someone's life that they lost," said Stephanie Byrum, Executive Director of the Hospice of Northeast Missouri.

The money raised from Saturday's event will support the organization and the United Way of Adair County.
