UNIONVILLE, MO -- Three people are in custody following a raid at an active meth lab in Putnam County Thursday night.

Unionville police and the Missouri State Highway Patrol served a search warrant just after 8:30 Thursday night at a residence in the 2100 block of Dewey Street in Unionville, where two of those arrested lived.

Robert Behrens, 38, of Unionville is charged with manufacturing a controlled substance within 2000 feet of a school, maintaining a public nuisance, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the Daviess-Dekalb Regional Jail on $100,000 bond.

Paula West, 45, of Unionville is charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and providing precursor material to another with the intent of illegal production of a controlled substance. She is also being held in the Daviess-Dekalb Regional Jail under $40,000 bond.

The third person arrested is Joshua Watts, 38, of Worthington. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Watts is being held in the Putnam County Jail on $25,000 bond.

Unionville Police Chief Tim Corwin told KTVO they have been investigating the three suspects and the residence for a couple of months before the bust. Corwin added this was an active meth lab and the suspects had cooked a batch about an hour before authorities made the busts. Prior to the meth found at the scene, officers also found seven guns and narcotic paraphernalia.
