KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The fifth annual Cape Air Kirksville Air Festival is only a few days away. The event is coming up at 2 p.m. this Sunday. Organizers say the event promises to be spectacular once again with world class acts.

“We have the United States Golden Knights Parachute Team this year. That’s probably our big feature. We also have an A-10 Thunderbird from the United States Air Force and then about six performers. One that is coming back is Skip Stewart. He has been here twice and everybody loves him and is one of the best performers,” said Air Festival Director Randy Smith.

After worries that they weren’t going to raise enough money for this year’s event, the community really came together over the last few months raising $38,000 since June. Officials say this should be enough to cover most of the cost.

And although the show starts at 2 p.m., officials say to get there early to secure a great spot.

Tickets for the event are $10 per person. Children five and under get in free.
